The building of the former coal tipper and mill, which has been a national cultural monument since 2002, has now been transformed into a creative center open to the public. Both FUTUREUM buildings are accessible to the public through exhibitions, tours, expositions, lectures and workshops.

Current use

Dolní Vítkovice area is a home to many exceptional sites and areas. The visitor tour route Cesta uhlí ('Coal Road') brings you closer to the original use and development of the buildings. The route is divided into a path located in the underground areas of the tipper and then in the mainly above-ground areas of the mill. The tour is accompanied by a lovely view of the Dolní Vítkovice area. The second tour route is called Green Heritage. This exhibition brings a new perspective on the sustainable protection and restoration of cultural heritage.

The FUTUREmuseum exhibition is also worth a visit. In addition to the introductory section, the exhibition is divided into three basic levels – nature, technology and man.

Dolní Vítkovice area offers a number of exceptional technical monuments and attractions. Visit the Science and Technology center, Interactive technical museum U6, go to the National Agricultural Museum or visit the Bolt tower.
